I'm not lying when I say, "Beer makes the workplace fun". I was at lunch when my boss called and asked me to stop by the liquor store to pick up a six-pack of Budweiser. She also told me to pick up a six-pack of my favorite brew which just happens to be Sam Adams Light. So being the accomodating person I am, I did both. I'm what I consider to be a good employee and didn't pop a top until 2:45pm, but as soon as I did, the afternoon flew by. I think workplaces shouldn't be so stringent when it comes to alcohol in the workplace. By my standards, I'd say I was twice as productive.

February 3, 2010 - Bam-Bu
I was looking forward to once again having lunch with friends and we decided to go to Sauce. Much to our surprise, when we arrived, we discovered that Sauce had closed its doors. Not to worry, there are other restaurants in the area and we decided on Bam-Bu as our alternate locale. It has a similar structure to Chipotle or Fire Bowl. After making our decision and placing our orders, we sat and caught up on life. As usual, it was a lovely time.
February 2, 2010 - Olympics File
Call me zealous, but I need to be organized when it comes to planning a trip. I've been planning our trip to the Olympics for over two years so it'd be safe to assume that I have a plan. With that being said, I have a file. Not just any file, it's perfect and holds every bit of information we'll need! It has an opaque cover so I can see our itinerary without having to open it. Inside is a pouch which holds my tickets, passport, etc. It's also broken down into categories such as Air, Hotel, Maps, Car Rental, Ferries, Border Crossing, Misc. Now you might think this is overkill, but let me assure you that it's not. We are prepared for anything!
February 1, 2010 - A Typical Monday
Another Monday.... Truth be told, Mondays are just like any other today and this one was no exception. I woke up, got ready for work, toiled away in front of my computer and came home. I spent the better part of the weekend driving to and from Oklahoma so it was nice to go back to my regular routine.

January 31, 2010 - Game Time!
I come from a family of gamers and it's in our blood. On my most recent trip to see my sister and her family, the boys took advantage of me and we played game after game. Owen was particlarly fond of a game called Bumparena which we played over and over. As you can see, it was a very exciting game and everytime he let the balls go, he let out a cheer of delight.
January 30, 2010 - Julianna Turns 1!
When I hear people talking about milestone birthdays, I tend to think in terms of 16, 21, 30, etc... However, since I've become an aunt, there's nothing more special than a baby's 1st birthday. My niece, Julianna, just turned 1 and in typical family fashion, my sister and brother-in-law threw her a birthday party. I initially thought I wasn't going to be able to make it, but ask anyone who knows me...I love parties! I left work at 5pm on Friday and arrived at my final destination bright and early at 5am after 12 hours driving through three states. It was all worth it! Julianna was dressed in her birthday finest and had a ball eating her cake and opening presents.
January 29, 2010 - Leaving Colorado
I make a trip to Oklahoma City a few times a year to visit my sister and her family. It was my niece's 1st birthday so there was no better time to take a trip. I was aware that there was an ice storm in Oklahoma right before I left Colorado, but I was undeterred. The overnight trek usually takes me 10-11 hours, but due to the inclement weather the last 100 miles of my journey, I was delayed by two hours. As was well as I made it safely to my destination.
January 28, 2010 - Big Tree, Little Snow
We're in the middle of Winter. It's been mild so far, but this morning we woke up to a dusting of snow. I wanted to snap a picture of the gorgeous tree outside my window, but it looks so bare without its leaves. I've been waiting for a big storm to come along so I could capture it when it's covered in snow, but this will have to do just in case we don't get another storm before Spring comes to town.
